Granary Cottage in Beeston Regis
Beeston Regis, Sheringham, Norfolk
Description
"VERY late availability!"
Granary Cottage is a two-storey building, and, as the name would suggest, was originally Abbey Farm's granary.
Two steps up to the front door and the entrance leads into the light and uncluttered beamed dining/living area.
To the left is the living room with a comfortable sofa and armchair, smart television with Freeview, free Wi-Fi broadband access and a selection of board games - all most welcome after a day on the beach or walking. A cosy gas stove offers addition warmth and glow in the winter months.
A large sliding patio door leads onto the south facing patio, well situated for morning coffee and evening aperitif in the summer months, and even on the odd spring and autumn day!
To the right of the entrance is the spacious and very well equipped kitchen with dual fuel cooker, microwave oven, under-counter fridge and freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer. An iron and ironing board are stowed behind the door.
Upstairs are the three bedrooms and bathroom.
The single rooms house vintage metal beds and have views either across the drive and Farmhouse's main front garden or over the cottage's garden.
The double bedroom has a new metal bed and a spacious wardrobe behind sliding doors with ample cupboard and hanging space. The window looks out over the cottage garden.
All beds have quality (and extremely comfy) mattresses, 100% cotton bed linen and pure new wool duvets (maintaining coolness in the summer heat and warmth in the winter chill).
The spotless bathroom has a sloping beamed roof but has been well planned and space is utilised perfectly. There is a good shower, enamel bath, basin and loo and a large heated towel rail/radiator for warmth and for drying those thick snuggly premium towels, as well as a "no mist" mirror above the basin.
The fresh uncluttered style of the cottage will suit couples and families alike.
Please note - there are 14 stairs.
Sleeping Arrangements
1 double and 2 singles.
Outside Property
Parking is a gravelled area outside the cottage and accommodates at least two vehicles comfortably.
There is a covered area underneath the granary steps where bikes and buggies may be stored.
Granary Cottage has an attractive area of garden at its side, with grass and beds, including patio space with table and chairs.
An Outback gas barbecue can be provided in the summer months.
Access to the extensive gardens of Abbey Farm is a stone's throw away, off the main drive, where approximately three acres of lawn, shrubs, wooded area, stream bog garden and pond can be explored at leisure or simply enjoyed by relaxing on one of the wooden seats, watching and listening to the birds!
Surrounding Area
Abbey Farm cottages are adjacent to the Grade I listed ruins of the 13th century Augustinian Priory (a heritage site) with Beeston Bump (a cliff-top hill) and the North Norfolk Coastal Path a further 200m to the north.
To the south, just 250m away, is Beeston Common, a Site of Special Scientific Interest, where the varied habitats hold a rich biodiversity of flora and fauna.
Only 600m away, ten/fifteen minutes walk, is the sandy beach of Beeston Regis, which leads either way to Sheringham or Cromer.
A mile to the east is Sheringham - one of Norfolk's most charming and pretty coastal towns with its award-winning beach, steam railway, Little Theatre, Crab and Lobster Festival, 1940's weekend, COAST Arts Festival and many restaurants and tea rooms, with the National Trust Sheringham Park a mile further to the south.
With beaches, three golf courses, clifftop and woodland walks, historical towns and coastal villages all nearby, Granary Cottage is perfectly situated for an "any time of year" break, long or short.
