Description
This cottage has been in the same family since 1939 and has provided wonderful memories for generations of holidaymakers. It is furnished in traditional style, but has been recently refurbished with modern comforts including brand new beds and linen to ensure you are as comfortable as possible.
There is one king-size double bedroom, one small twin and a bathroom upstairs and another twin and a shower room (accessed through the sitting room) downstairs. Please note that the staircase is very steep and would not suit those with limited mobility. There is one step on the ground floor between the bedroom and the shower room.
There is Wifi, a television and an excellent Bluetooth Pure Radio.
This is a no-smoking property. Dogs are allowed by prior arrangement and at a small additional cost.
Sheets and linen are provided and there is a fully-equipped laundry for use during your stay.

Outside Property
Parking is directly outside the cottage for two cars. There is no garden, but the creek is just yards away at then end of the road from which you can walk for miles in both directions, along sea walls and beaches.
Surrounding Area
Rutherfords Cottage is on East Harbour Way in Burnham Overy Staithe. The excellent Hero pub is within yards of the front door, with many other good pubs and restaurants nearby. Burnham Market, with its extensive shopping opportunities, is 2 miles away and the Coasthopper bus runs stops one minute from our front door. There are wonderful walks in every direction, without the need to go in a car: towards Holkham and Wells-next-the-Sea to the East, and towards Brancaster and Holme-next-the-Sea to the West. With some of the most exceptional bird-watching on the doorstep this is a birder's paradise! For families with young children the creek is just yards away at the end of the road with crabbing on the quay, bucket and spading in the pools, and swimming, boating and kayaking all within walking distance. In summer months there is a ferry to beautiful Scolt Head island which is a National Nature Reserve and a sanctuary for sea birds. Guests in Rutherfords have free access to the two village tennis courts (booking advisable in summer months); there is also a good recreation ground for young children. There are outstanding golf courses at Brancaster and Hunstanton, and many historic houses within easy reach, including Holkham Hall, Blicking Hall and Houghton Hall.
