No. 43 in Fakenham

Fakenham, Norfolk

Description

In its Edwardian hey day, No43 was a large, stylish, family home just 5 minutes walk from the town centre.
It metamorphosed, as places do, with different occupants over the years. We have now added to its life story by carefully converting half of it into a very spacious and lovely self-catering holiday house.
Downstairs there's a large, comfortable sitting room with wood burner, leading on to the kitchen/diner with a cloakroom area from which there is a toilet/shower room.
The kitchen is well equipped with everything we could think of that you might need in the way of crockery, utensils, laundry accessories etc plus table linen and tea towels. There's a washing machine, fridge with freezer compartment, hob, oven and microwave. We have traditional dish washing facilities (ie no dishwasher!)
There are games, puzzles and TV (in the sitting room) WIFI, plus a good selection of books and DVDs for indoor time.
There are 14 steps to the upper floor .
Upstairs has a family bathroom and 2 lovely bedrooms with views of the garden.
Bedroom one is very spacious with a King size bed. Bedroom two is a good sized room with double bed. Both have ample wardrobe space and hairdryers.
Bedlinen and towels (not beach towels!) are provided.
No43 is fully centrally heated for a cosy stay whatever the weather is doing.

Outside Property

The house is screened from the road by a tree and shrub filled part of the garden alongside the driveway which then opens out to a spacious parking area. The driveway is gated for your security.
From there is a large, 2 tier, walled garden with a lawn big enough for children to play safely.
There are 2 paved areas with tables, chairs and umbrellas for dining al fresco or just sitting out relaxing with drinks.
Conventional deck chairs are available.
Our guests are most welcome to use the garden at any time.

Surrounding Area

Fakenham has been here on the banks of the river Wensum since Saxon times. A useful place to be, then and now.
In the heart of North Norfolk, 9 miles from the coast, surrounded by countryside, picturesque villages and with a grand helping of stately homes and other attractions nearby - it has lots to offer.
The Historic town market place has bustled with activity every Thursday market day since 1245AD. The 13th century church overlooks a sea of stalls of every description stretching as far as the very popular weekly sale at Beck's Auctioneers.
There are Coffee shops, supermarkets, 10 Pin Bowling, an excellent Garden Centre with all the trimmings, the quirkiest Cinema for miles around - and plenty more!
There's a fine Golf Course, Fakenham's famous Racecourse and 5 minutes by car takes you to the equally famous Pensthorpe Nature Reserve. It's a similar journey to The Hawk and Owl Trust at nearby Sculthorpe. Or a short drive will take you to the vast and beautiful Wells beach - what could be better!? The popular Georgian town of Holt with its galleries, boutiques and coffee shops is only 20 minutes away and the seaside town of Sheringham with its fishing heritage is about 30 minutes drive.
Local buses go in all directions from Fakenham - including the really useful Coasthopper which does just that!
* If you ever have to cancel a booking through unforseen circumstances, we will always return your deposit.
No43 has a 6 night minimum stay and closes from mid December to the end of February.
